The Arizona Corporation Commission has approved an application by Liberty Utilities to provide wastewater service to a large planned real estate development.

That is the long-planned Zanjero Trails development in Litchfield Park.

It is slated to have just under 4,500 single-family homes and another 4,800 commercial and multifamily units. The development is slated to be built in six phases over 20 years.

The ACC — which regulates utilities in the state — gave the approval for all the phases of Zanjero Trails.

The development totals more than 1,740 acres in the West Valley. It runs north to south along Camelback Road, Peoria Avenue and other major cross streets west of Loop 303 near the White Tank Mountains.

Liberty provide water services in other West Valley jurisdictions.
